LeaseDecoded ("we", "us") provides plain-English reviews of Queensland residential tenancy documents. This page explains what information we collect, why, exactly who processes it, and how to have it deleted. The short version: we collect only what we need to produce your report, we never sell your documents or use them for advertising, a small number of named service providers process them to deliver your report, and everything is deleted within 30 days — or immediately if you ask.
What we collect
When you order a lease check: your name, email address, your lease document (PDF or photos), and optionally your signing date. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
When you visit this website: standard analytics data via Google Analytics — pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type. This is aggregate visitor data; it does not include your name or documents.
How we use it
Your lease and details are used for exactly one purpose: producing your report and communicating with you about it. Analytics data is used to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it. Your documents are disclosed only to the service providers listed below, and only as necessary to deliver your report.
Who sees your lease
We do not sell your lease or disclose it for advertising. A small number of service providers process it only as necessary to deliver your report: Jotform (order form and file upload), Stripe (payment processing — Stripe does not receive your lease), Google (Gmail, used to deliver your report by email), and Anthropic (the Claude AI service, used to assist the analysis of your lease text; every finding is then manually re-checked against your document before delivery). Google Analytics receives website statistics only — never your name or documents. Each provider processes only the data needed for its role, under its own privacy policy and security measures. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
Lease documents and order details are deleted within 30 days of delivering your report. If you'd like everything deleted immediately, email us and we'll confirm once it's done. Records we're required to keep for tax purposes (e.g. the fact a payment occurred, via Stripe) are retained as required by law — these do not include your lease.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email reports@leasedecoded.com.au and we'll respond within a few business days. If you believe we've mishandled your information, you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Security
Your documents travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS) at every step — upload, payment, and report delivery. Access to your files is limited to the people preparing and verifying your report.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
